RISE25: Four Days of Education and Inspiration

From May 28-31, more than 7,000 public safety and public health professionals gathered in Kissimmee, Florida, for RISE25, the preeminent training conference on the intersection of substance use, mental health, and justice innovation.

The event featured more than 250 training sessions, where attendees learned practical, evidence-based approaches for reducing crime, saving lives, and strengthening communities, including training for judges, law enforcement, and the growing field of mental health courts.

Leaders from coast to coast attended RISE25, including a record number of treatment court alumni. We're grateful to everyone who joined us for these four incredible days and who is taking what they learned back home to share with their teams and communities.

RISE25 featured more than 20 hours of continuing education credits, dozens of training tracks ranging from community policing to recovery management to veterans. Concurrent sessions tackled important topics specific to eliminating impaired driving, serving justice-involved veterans, following risk-need-responsivity models, implementing evidence-based drug testing and case management practices, and much more.

Outside of session rooms, the hallways, exhibit hall, and lounge areas were filled with attendees sharing ideas and reflecting on lessons learned.

Altogether, RISE25 showcased the strength of a professional field led by evidence and grounded in a belief that treatment courts and other justice innovations are more than programs; they are a powerful testament to what’s possible when our justice and treatment systems work together.

Speaking to all attendees during the first general session, treatment court alumni and assistant district attorney Jessica Miraglia captured the spirit of RISE25: “To those of you who work tirelessly to make the path like mine possible, thank you for proving that when one rises, we all rise.”
